NQF LEVEL4

NQF LEVEL4 - OC

NQF LEVEL 4 FETC - Further Education & Training Certificate

This is an accredited NQF Level 4 FETC in Early Childhood Development. 
    Duration = 12 Months
   Credits = 140
    Classes - Saturdays Only (8:AM till 2:00PM)

With this qualification you can open your own Educare,  and you can teach children up to Grade R. However, most level 4’s are used as Gr R Teacher Assistants.

NQF LEVEL 4 OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE

This is an accredited NQF Level 4 Occupational Certificate in Early Childhood Development. 

    Duration = 12 Months
   Credits = 143
    Classes - Saturdays Only (8:AM till 2:00PM)

The entry-level ECD qualification has been updated from the NQF Level 4 Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC): Early Childhood Development to the NQF Level 4 Occupational Certificate: Early Childhood Development.

This change aims to align the qualification with current industry needs and enhance the practical competencies of ECD practitioners. 

NQF LEVEL 5 DIPLOMA

This is an accredited NQF Level 5 Diploma in Early Childhood Development.
    Duration - 18 Months
   Credits - 240
   Classes - Saturdays Only (8:AM till 2:00PM)

Level 5’s can teach at schools as Gr R Practitioners/Teachers. Most are employed by the SGB( School Governing Body).

NQF LEVEL 5 National Certificate

This is an accredited NQF Level 5 National Certificate in Inclusive Education
    Duration - 12 Months
   Credits - 140
   Classes - Distance Learning Only
  Minimum Requirement - NQF Level 5 Diploma

The National Certificate in Inclusive Education aims to ensure that practitioners can effectively screen and identify potential barriers and strengths, facilitate learning activities, differentiate curriculum and assessment tools, adapt teaching support materials, and collaborate with relevant service providers.

Practical Presentations at School

Practical Presentations either individually, or in groups. Fellow classmates will offer immediate feedback, contributing to improved confidence levels of other students.
Group Work is key to foster a greater understanding of the course material. Sharing ideals and fostering a sense of community result in marked improvement of our students confidence levels and presentation skills

Credits: 240

Once qualified, students can apply for a Grade R post at any school. Students can also register themselves at SACE(South African Council of Educators).
Our newly qualified students are regularly employed at schools across the Western Cape. 
Most of them are also currently pursuing their B.Ed Degree in Foundation Phase.

  • Assess learner needs to determine the required level of support. 
  • Facilitate accessibility to an enabling inclusive learning environment.
  • Manage administrative functions efficiently.

Target Audience

This qualification is designed to equip practitioners with the skills and knowledge needed to create inclusive learning environments and support learners with SPECIAL NEEDS.
The National Certificate in Inclusive Education is tailored for a wide range of professionals, including educators, teacher assistants, rehabilitation workers, house parents, district personnel, support/auxiliary workers, therapists, social workers, childcare workers, equity officers, orientation and mobility practitioners, healthcare workers, and managers. This diverse scope ensures the qualification's relevance across various roles within inclusive education, training, and development contexts.
